This class will teach students how to: understand what a text-based question is asking turn the question into an answer make a clear claim find relevant evidence in the text to support their thinking introduce and cite that evidence explain how the evidence proves the answer write an organized short response and eventually a multi-paragraph response My teaching style is model, model, model Students will be asked to work alongside of me in all writing assignments.
